The questions we get asked most frequently about reading vehicle registration documents — scope, formats, data protection, integration and pricing. If your question isn't answered here, ask us directly — we usually reply within one business day.
Which documents can Fahrzeugschein24 read?
German vehicle registration documents: the Zulassungsbescheinigung Teil I and the older Fahrzeugschein. We're happy to look at further document types on request.
Which values are extracted?
Up to 65 fields — including the licence plate, vehicle identification number (VIN), owner data, German manufacturer/type codes (HSN/TSN), make and type, first registration, vehicle class, masses, emission values and dimensions. How many are filled depends on what is printed on your document — around 56 on average. Every field comes with a confidence score; the matching image cutout can be switched on in your account.
Which file formats can I upload?
JPEG, PNG, HEIC/HEIF (iPhone photos), TIFF, BMP, WebP and PDF, up to 20 MB per file. Rotated or tilted shots are corrected automatically.
How long does an extraction take?
Typically 1–2 seconds per document, from upload to finished answer.
How many extractions are free?
15 per month on the Free plan — permanently, without a credit card or contract.
What does Fahrzeugschein24 cost?
Free at €0 with 15 extractions per month, Starter at €19 with 100, Business at €149 with 1,000, Scale at €599 with 5,000 and Enterprise at €1,999 with 20,000 extractions per month. Beyond that, usage is billed per extraction: €0.20 (Starter), €0.16 (Business), €0.13 (Scale) and €0.11 (Enterprise). All prices net, plus VAT.
Are uploaded images stored?
No. Uploads are processed in memory only and never written to disk. What is stored is the extracted data and log entries for your account.
Where is my data processed?
On servers in Germany; document processing stays within the EU. The Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement is available online without asking. Full details on the processing are set out in the privacy policy.
Is there an API?
Yes. Create a key in the dashboard and send the image to our endpoint; the response contains the extracted fields. On request we also push every result to your system automatically via webhook.
Does Fahrzeugschein24 detect forged registration documents?
With the fraud detection add-on, every document is additionally checked for traces of editing, for AI generation and for duplicates within your own uploads. The result is a risk assessment with individual findings — input for your review, not an official authenticity ruling. From the Business plan onwards the check is included and usable over the API; on Free and Starter you can evaluate it with 10 free analyses per month in the playground.
